The study of matrices, analytic geometry, sequences and series complete the foundation for higher math courses. Concluding chapters introduce descriptive and inferential statistics and differential and integral calculus. Special features present biblical perspectives of mathematics and its history.
BUSINESS MATH
Business Mathematics gives the basic principles of how to manage a business, investments, banking, and income taxes. Students will understand concepts such as accounts receivable and payable, bookkeeping, the New York Stock Exchange, corporate bonds, and small business loans. With detailed descriptions, examples, and ample practice problems, your student could be on his way to becoming a business owner.
CONSUMER MATH
This course presents a balanced study of the foundations of calculus and practical real-world applications. Students will review key families of functions before studying trigonometry and its applications. The study of matrices, analytic geometry, sequences and series complete the foundation for higher math courses. Concluding chapters introduce descriptive and inferential statistics and differential and integral calculus. Special features present biblical perspectives of mathematics and its history. (offered in a 2-year rotation with Business Math)
CHEMISTRY
Through the study of chemistry, students will learn how many everyday events relate to chemistry. They will see the wonder in how matter and energy interact in the food we eat, what we drink, how cars move, and how medicine works. They will learn about how chemistry impacts the world around us and our obligation to help redeem others and the physical world with what we know about chemistry. (offered in a 2-year rotation with Physics)
PHYSICS
Physics offers classical mechanics, work and energy, periodic motion and wave theory, electricity and magnetism, optics, relativity, quantum physics, and nuclear physics. These topics are presented in conjunction with real-world modeling exercises that reinforce a Christian worldview by demonstrating the relevance and validity of approaching science from a biblical perspective. The course is mathematically rigorous and algebra-based. The well-prepared student should have completed at least two years of algebra and one year of geometry instruction. In order to help students succeed, the necessary math skills are gradually introduced in a scaffold fashion, reinforced with numerous example problems. (offered in a 2-year rotation with Chemistry)
SPEECH
This course includes discussions of the communication process, audience analysis, and public speaking guidelines. This course involves topic choice, research, organization, and effective communication. Speaking projects include introductions, interviews, demonstration speeches, declamations, informative speeches, devotional speeches, and persuasive speeches.
YEARBOOK

BIBLE 12
Pattern for Christian Living opens with a God-centered account of the Creation, Fall, and Redemption of our world. It then applies this understanding to issues faced by contemporary teens. Moral decision-making, dating, choosing a college, developing relationships, studying the Bible, gender roles, politics, technology, depression, evangelism—the educational materials is relative to where teens are right now.
ENGLISH 12
This course teaches the eight parts of speech, verbal phrases, clauses, usage, and mechanics. The English educational materials also review the seven sentence patterns; introduce advanced grammar concepts such as tense sequence, perfect verbals, and adverbial nouns; and lead students through the writing process, teaching writing strategies such as variety, emphasis, and sentence logic. Writing projects include a research paper, a literary analysis, a narrative poem, an analytical essay, an interview, and an in-class essay. British Literature prepares students for the rigors of reading and critical thinking at the college level. They will broaden their cultural literacy and sharpen their sensitivity to aesthetics within the God-given gifts of language and storytelling. Most importantly, this course challenges them to understand on a more personal level the problem of the human condition and recognize where humanistic and biblical solutions to that condition differ.
GOVERNMENT
This course prepares students to be informed and empowered citizens who have a biblical perspective of government. It teaches students about our nation, its development over the last four centuries, and its system of government. Students will have the opportunity to examine primary sources that are foundational to understanding how the US government should operate.
PRE-CALCULUS
This course presents a balanced study of the foundations of calculus and practical real-world applications. Students will review key families of functions before studying trigonometry and its applications. The study of matrices, analytic geometry, sequences and series complete the foundation for higher math courses. Concluding chapters introduce descriptive and inferential statistics and differential and integral calculus. Special features present biblical perspectives of mathematics and its history.
CALCULUS
An intensive review of algebra, trigonometry, and analytic geometry as well as advanced word problems, derivatives, integrals and logarithmic functions. (Prerequisite: ADVANCED MATH)
